Our soap studio makes artisanal bar soap by hand and employs women local to our village. We source as many ingredients locally as possible, and also make a selection of other natural skin care products. We create 14 varieties of soap, each with it’s own scent and unique ingredient. We also do custom orders and supply soap to local businesses.
Zanzibar
Sand soap
This soap is made with fine white sand from the Tanzanian coast. It makes a super gentle exfoliant and smells crispy and fruity like tropical agave.
Simba Shampoo
Peppermint & Eucalyptus Essential Oils
This shampoo bar is gentle on hair and cleansing for scalps. It has natural beeswax to maintain moisture and is especially good for African hair and dreadlocks. is infused with essentials oils: tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender.

Cucumber & Green Tea
This soap is made with steeped green tea cucumber juice, Rejuvenating and fresh by it’s ingredients, it’s shower fresh scent, and beautiful design!
Kilimanjaro Koffee
Exfoliating Soap
This soap is made with coffee grounds from the slopes of Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro. The scent is fresh like a mountain rainstorm; a lovely exfoliating soap!
Baba la Baba
Beer Soap
This soap is made with Tanzanian beer! Beer is known to make a thick creamy lather and to be very cleansing. It is thought to help with acne prone skin. This bar has a masculine liquorice-y soapy scent and is popular with the guys.

Shea butter soap
Passion soap is made with amazingly moisturising African shea butter, local passionfruit, and has the most delicious and refreshing tropical aroma.
Coco-coconut
Goat milk and coconut
This is a triple coconut soap with coconut oil, coconut cream, coconut fragrance! It’s also made with goat’s milk, smells divine, and is great for sensitive skin.
Turmeric & Honey
This soap combines the super food turmeric with honey and an amazing combination of essential oils; cedarwood, patchouli, anise, and lavender. One of our original favourites!
Baby Toto
Lavender & Goat Milk
This super gentle soap is perfect for the skin of babes. Made with fresh goat’s milk, a touch of honey, and a hint of lavender essential oil, it makes a wonderful creamy lather and is perfect for those with sensitive skin.
Karatu Klay
Clay, Cane Sugar, and Patchouli
The clay in this area is known for its red colour, which comes through in this soap. Made with local clay and cane sugar, this bar is great for drawing out oils, and is mildly exfoliating. Scented with patchouli, peach and citrus it’s just dreamy.
Honeycomb
Hadzabe Honey
Made with honey and beeswax harvested in Tanzania this soap is great for dry skin. It smells heavenly of honey itself with just a touch of flower nectar.
Wildflower
Cane Sugar
Gorgeous wildflower soap smells divine in the shower and makes loads of bubbly lather. This bar also makes a great shampoo.
Wild Aloe & Olive Oil
Olive Oil Soap
Scented with lemongrass (chai-chai in Swahili) this soap has the amazing benefits of fresh aloe vera, which we harvest here in Mto wa Mbu. In addition- skin loving olive oil rounds out this luxurious soap.

Carrot and Chamomile
This soap makes a lovely bubbly lather and is rich in nutrients form fresh carrot juice and freshly brewed chamomile tea. Smells lovely, earthy, with just a hint of sweet carrot.

As the name says, this soap is made with fresh goat’s milk and Tanzanian cocoa. It smells just like chocolate and the fresh goat’s milk give it a lovely, thick, creamy, moisturising lather.
